Sexy Contacts and Googlefighting

A few diversions:

This article about contacts making you sexier makes me wonder. The students were taken to London nightclubs with "strict instructions to go and 'pull'." I assume 'pull' is British English for "mack" or "hit on" or "put the moves on" or whatnot. It rings a bit oddly in my ears.

How long have I been wearing contacts? That's what I thought. This is news? Next you're going to be telling me the whole blonds are dying out news story is fake. (update: Link changed 04/18/2003).

In a completely unrelated story, Googlefighting. Find out which keyword has the most results on on Google. My best: women versus men. Women edged men out by a narrow margin, with 49,500,000 results versus men's 49,100,000 results (As of October 2, 2002).

Maybe that is related somehow.

I read the article you referenced regarding contacts (instead of glasses) being "sexier. I really think that it has far more to do with the wearer's self-confidence, self-esteem and self-image than it really does with the eye of the beholder. A man who is easy with himself is far more attractive than someone who is gawky, even if the gawky one is put together like the proverbial god. Often, I find that the right glasses can be very attractive on people. SOmetimes I don't even really notice the glasses. I once had a beau who got contacts as a surprise....and it took me forever..like a whole day to realize that he didn't have his glasses on. Now if contacts makes a guy feel more attractive, and that communicates itself favorably to those potential partners, then more power to them. I still think there is something rather romantic in a man's dramatically removing his glasses before a eeply passionate kiss. However, I had wondered about other sexual things when one couldn't see what he waqs doing, such as in oral sex. I'm not really sure how much vision plays in the performance of this delight.

By the way, Chad.....you looked mighty fine in your specs...they suited your face and personality very well as far as I could tell.
